With more than 27 million players on a daily basis, League Of Legends has claimed its title as the worlds best MOBA game. But what is a MOBA, you ask? Well, it's a multiplayer online battle arena and is one of the most developed as well as popular game genre. MOBA's usually have a steep learning curve, meaning that your probably going to fail at first (depending on which MOBA) and takes time to get the hang of it.
The gameplay of a typical MOBA game consists of a 5v5 or 3v3 setup, with each player controlling a unit, which is usually referred to a hero or champion. The goal of most MOBA's is destroying the opposing team's base. With a wide variety of champions to choose from, each having a different play style, it can take a very long time to master the game. That's why MOBA games are so addicting and consume most of your time, as they are hard to come to a halt once you've started playing.
In the free game of League of Legends, each team tries to destroy the opposing side's Nexus, which is protected by other powerful structures and of course enemy players. In order for a team to be victorious and win, each player within the team has to be methodical, organised, focused as well as have the ability to be a good team player, as that is what the game is about - being able to play with strangers which you have probably have never met before in your life.
However, with the amount of people playing the game, there are also those who try to be annoying by 'trolling' the game. These trolls exist to destroy your game and grow from the toxicity of the game. Usually they act randomly, as they would intentionally die to the enemies and alter the balance of the game. However, the smart players would just ignore the trolls and continue playing their game and not give into the trolls and the toxicity that they bring alongside their gameplay.
Aside from the trolls and toxicity, League Of Legends is a very successful MOBA and has proven to be so through the countless efforts of the company of RIOT to continue to develop this game even further. You could also earn money from playing games, as Aiden Sylvester had said in the previous blog, through either entering tournaments or competitions such as the LCS or participating in the LOLesports community and becoming a professional League player.
There are two main types of League players, those who play for fun and those who play professionally (or tryhard). Those who play for fun usually tend to post videos on youtube of them playing the game. There are several popular League gamers on youtube who upload content of their league games. Some of the most popular League of Legends youtubers are as follows: Sp4zie, SivHD, Keyori and VideogameDunkey. If you are interested in viewing their channels, I assure you that they are extremely funny and entertaining (if your familiar with the game), links for their youtube channels are listed below:

Overall, League Of Legends has shown to be successfully developing into a game with a better community and less toxicity within it, therefore attracting a larger group of players every year. It has also won several awards from when it had first started in October 27th 2009. Within the time period of only 2 years, the game has won 5 awards:
IGN PC Best Strategy Game 2009 - (December 14, 2009)
Gamespy Gamers' Choice Awards 2009 - (December 21, 2009)
1st Game Developers Online Choice Awards - (October 8, 2010)
Golden Joystick Award - (October 29, 2010)
Golden Joystick Award - (October 21, 2011)
Which clearly shows how developed this game has become with a constant increase of yearly players as well as the high rating it has produced.
I would rate it a 9 out of 10, and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't played the game as of yet. Keep in mind that the first few games may be daunting for you, which is completely understandable as you may have no idea what to do or how to do it, but the more you play the better you'll understand the game and will continue to improve your gameplay as well as your knowledge for the game.
Stay tuned for more upcoming posts,
